Erwin Schrödinger Award

The award is given to scientists who work in Austria and recognizes outstanding achievements in research areas represented by the Division of Mathematics and the Natural Sciences of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.

The Academy honors with this award scientific lifetime achievements or an outstanding achievement which resulted in noticeable effects in the respective research area or beyond.

Nominations may be submitted by full members and corresponding members abroad of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.

Direct applications are not accepted.

The award amounts to EUR 15.000,-.

: March 1, 2017

Nomination documents:

  • CV and publication list of the nominee, incl. a list of the ten most frequently cited in ISI
  • selection of up to 3 publications of the nominee (PDF-files)
  • Personal statement by the nominator - please address the following aspects, in particular:
    - nominee's international reputation
    - description of the discoveries, recognised theories or insights that he or she has achieved as well as their impact on the field
    - assessment of his/her publication activity
