Applications for the  Moritz Csáky Fellowship are invited from scholars (Mag./M.A., post-doc) from Eastern, East Central and Southeastern Europe (the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia) under 40 who are conducting research in a field within the humanities, cultural studies or the social sciences and seek a research stay in Austria.

Selection Process

Prize winners are decided by the Division of Humanities and the Social Sciences at the recommendation of an awards committee which can also seek external reviews.

  • Tabular CV
  • List of publications of the last 5 years
  • Letter of recommendation from a scholar from the candidate’s home country
  • Brief exposé of the research project and reasons for a stay in Austria, including bibliography (3–5 pages)

Applications may be submitted in German or English.
