Guidelines for Good Scientific Practice

When carrying out the funded projects, the guidelines of the respective fellowship program, the funding guidelines of the fellowship programs of the Austrian Academy of Sciences as well as the rules of good scientific practice according to the criteria of the Austrian Agency for Research Integrity (ÖAWI) must be observed.

By signing the online application form for one of the fellowship programs, the applicants confirm that they

• have written the submitted project proposal independently,
• and will comply with the guidelines of the respective fellowship program as well as
• with the guidelines of the OeAWI.

By submitting the documents and the signed online form, the applicants accept that the submitted project proposal may be subject to a plagiarism check.

Measures

If a violation of the rules of good scientific practice is suspected, a review is carried out and the responsible research institution is informed. Pending the outcome of this review, the selection or review procedure for the application in question will be suspended.

If there is evidence of a violation, e.g. that a submitted project proposal was not written independently by the applicant, this person will be excluded from applying to the Austrian Academy of Sciences for two to five years, depending on the severity of the scientific misconduct.
