Selection

The selection process takes about five to six months.

At least one external review is obtained for each application.

Legal recourse is excluded.

Fellowship Committee

The award committee consists of scientists who work at a university or a non-university research institution in Austria and abroad. The committee members are nominated by the Austrian Academy of Sciences.

Evaluation Criteria

Applicant’s academic qualification

• Course and length of study, quality and number of publications (peer review)
• (international) mobility
• Grants, awards, etc

Project

• Originality, innovative aspects and scientific relevance
• Presentation of research questions/hypotheses and methodology
• Scientific environment, qualification of supervisor(s)

Information to applicants

The applicants will be informed of the decision in writing after the committee meeting.
