The fellowshsips are awarded by a selection committee whose members are nominated by the Austrian Academy of Sciences. The decision on the fellowshsips is made on the basis of a comparative assessment of the applications by the committee members.
If applications are submitted by persons with whom individual committee members have a close professional or private relationship, these committee members will not take part in the decision-making process.
Legal recourse is excluded.
The main criteria for selection are the academic qualifications of the applicant and the academic quality of the dissertation project.
Information to applicants
Applicants will be informed of the committee's decision in writing after the selection committee meeting.
