The award is made available to the host institution, which then pays the fellow in monthly instalments.
Travel expenses are only granted to a spouse and child(ren) if they accompany the fellow to America. The costs of crossing the Atlantic are generally provided to the fellow after arrival at the host institution.
Basic stipend: USD 56,500
Travel expenses (including return journey: USD 2,000
Project-related travel within the USA and materials allowance: USD 2,000
Additional allowances:
Allowance for accompanying spouse: USD 7,000
Travel expenses (including return journey) for spouse: USD 2,000
Allowance for an accompanying child: USD 2,300
Travel expenses (including return journey) for a child: USD 1,000
The figures listed above apply from 1 January 2021 onwards.
